Rosemary Martin

My work originates from an interest in the ephemeral nature of the natural world - in both landscape and microscopic form. Water and the colour blue play a major part in many of my paintings.

More recently images of lace and fragments of pottery have been included to introduce personal cultural motifs with past and present family associations.

Fragile surfaces, transparent, liquid layers of paint and floating, fragmented shapes allude to the idea of transience.
