Statement

The Paintings begin as a number of line drawings which define a visual experience, possibly of moving through a landscape or seeing people.  Frome these drawings a full colour gouache is made as a modle for the painting.  In the final stage, a wooden frame is constructed, over which the canvas is stretched and finally this is painted to create the finished work.

Extracts from a press review of the Theatr Mwldan exhibition “Bold, bright and geometrically taut”

“An unashamed glorification of colour and intense appreciation of shape and texture”

“Each piece positiverly bursts with buoyancy thanks to the vibrant colours, giant punctuation-mark structures and the most perfectly composed textures which often create a magical 3D effect”
