Meet Poppy James and Peter Stone in their studios to discuss their work and practice
Poppy James is a painter who likes to experiment with different paint media on a variety of surfaces. Egg tempera is a favourite medium along with oil and acrylics. Her landscapes and seascapes are distilled and simplified, sometimes moody and atmospheric and sometimes contemplative. Poppy is fascinated by surfaces. She plays with the paint and the surface to create her innovative effects. At the moment Poppy is enjoying a printmaking interlude exploring coloured monotypes of some of her Cornwall images.
She has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Show, the RWA Autumn Exhibition and at the ING Discerning Eye at the Mall Galleries in London.
Peter Stone is a freelance photographer specialising in Fine Art Reproduction, working with artists, galleries, museums etc. to produce high quality photographs of paintings, sculpture, ceramics for use in publication, publicity. He also works in design & advertising as well as portraiture & PR.
Peter prints Fine Art (giclee) prints for many artists & galleries.

Meet David Cobley and Jem Hobbs in their studios to discuss their work and practice
David Cobley is an award-winning portrait and figure painter and works from his studio at BAS. His portrait commissions include HRH The Princess Royal and President Assad of Syria, and in 2004 his portrait of Ken Dodd OBE was bought by the National Portrait Gallery for its permanent collection.
He has exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and held solo exhibitions at Beaux Arts in Bath, and Messum's in London. His figure paintings are in public and private collections throughout the world.

Jem Hobbs is a stonecarver, a craftsman, who works in the world of conservation. He has carved heads for the Chapterhouse at Westminster Abbey.
Jem used to be a graphic artist and illustrator, working for 15 years in print, design and packaging.
At 30 he decided to learn to carve stone, wanting to make things a little more permanent, so to speak.
